Summer classes are a great way see if your child loves dance, before making the commitment of a full year of classes. Flexible schedules, convenient class times, we have you covered. Summertime Little Movers | Ages 18 months - 2 1/2 Years
Welcome to your child’s first dance class experience! At this level, we introduce principles of musicality and overall coordination. Your little one will learn important skills such as sharing, waiting their turn and general socialization. We use song and dance as well as basic ballet terminology to help engage student’s attention and imagination. (parents in the room) Dress Code- Leotard and tights if you have them. If not a tank top and gym shorts will work too. Ballet shoes if you have them, otherwise bare feet are fine!
Summertime Tip Toe & Tumble | Ages 3 - 6 1/2
Class will combine ballet and acrobatics in to a 45 minute program. Students will learn basic ballet through creative movement and early ballet curriculum, vocabulary and class structure. Dancers learn creative movement to improve upon musicality, balance and coordination. (parents not in the room) Dress Code- Leotard and tights if you have them. If not a tank top and gym shorts will work too. Ballet shoes if you have them, otherwise bare feet are fine!
Children's Dance Camps | Ages 4 - 7
Dance camp assists children to develop physical skills, eye-hand coordination, improve balance and agility, increase confidence, build self-esteem and get physically fit while having fun. The day will also include a fun arts and crafts project. Each session is topped off with an informal performance where parents and friends can watch the campers show off their new skills and have a chance to view their arts and crafts projects. Pending guidelines the performance showcase will either be in studio or via Zoom.
Intermediate / Advanced Technique Classes | Ages 7 - 18
The Summer Technique Series at EDA is geared towards intermediate and advanced level dancers as a way to supplement their technique training during the summer months. Dancers will continue to develop their technical skills as well as their artistic performance skills through warm ups, progressions and combinations. Classes will focus on stretching, endurance, strengthening, balance, control and alignment. Class placement is at the discretion of the director.
Dress Code for Little Movers, Tip Toe Tumble and Dance Camp:
-Leotard and tights with ballet shoes (if you have them already)
-Tank top and bike shorts/tank top and leggings
Dress Code for Technique Series:
-Leotard and tights with jazz shoes (if you have them already)
-sports bra and leggings/sports bra and shorts
