COVID Guidelines

Clients should understand that this a fluid situation which could change as the season progresses. These protocols and guidelines could change as our local health regulations and or medical advice changes. Any updates to these protocols and guidelines will be emailed to you and will be updated on the website. In order to attend classes at Encore Dance Academy an electronic waiver will need to be agreed upon in your registration.

Daily COVID Screening Questions

If anyone in your family has been feeling unwell, or if you have been in contact with anyone that is sick, we ask that you do not send your dancer to class. Please use the virtual option for class via Zoom. Each time you send your child to the studio please review the following:

Today or in the past 24 hours, has your child or any household members experienced:

-FEVER/CHILLS

-NEW MUSCLE ACHES

-COUGH

-SORE THROAT

-DIFFICULTY BREATHING

-UNEXPLAINED RASH

-NEW LOSS OF SMELL OR TASTE

If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions, your child is unfortunately unable to enter the building. We ask that you please use the virtual option for class via Zoom. Individual must show proof of a negative COVID test result and must be cleared by a physician via documentation in order to return to the studio. If you refuse to get the student tested, please remain home for 14 days from symptom onset. Student must be cleared by a physician with documentation in order to return to the studio.

In the past 14 days:

-Has anyone in your household been diagnosed with COVID-19?

-Have you been told to quarantine yourself by any public health authority?

-Have you had close contact with a person known to be infected with COVID-19?

-Have you traveled anywhere on a commercial airplane?

-Have you traveled to a state that is a known “hot spot”?

If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions, your child is unfortunately unable to enter the building. Please use the virtual option for class via Zoom. Please self-quarantine for 14 days. At the end of 14 days, individual must show proof of a negative COVID test result and must be cleared by a physician via documentation in order to return to the studio. If you refuse to get the student tested, you will still need to remain home for 14 days from symptom onset. Student must be cleared by a physician with documentation in order to return to the studio.

Protocol for Handling COVID-19 Symptoms and Exposures

Individual is Symptomatic:

• Student or teacher will stay home from the studio. Individual should be tested for COVID-19. Students may take class via Zoom. Teachers will find coverage for their classes.

• Individual must show proof of a negative COVID test result and must be cleared by a physician via documentation in order to return to the studio.

• Refusal to get tested – Individual must remain home for 14 days from symptom onset. Students may take class via Zoom. Student must be cleared by a physician with documentation in order to return to the studio.

Student is Exposed to Confirmed Positive COVID-19 Individual:

• Student will stay home from the studio for 14 days. Individual should be tested for COVID-19. Students may take class via Zoom. Teachers will find coverage for their classes.

• Negative test result – Individual must show proof of a negative COVID test result and must be cleared by a physician via documentation in order to return to the studio.

• Refusal to get Tested – Individual must remain home for 14 days from symptom onset. Students may take class via Zoom. Student must be cleared by a physician with documentation in order to return to the studio.

• Positive test result – Student or teacher must notify the studio of a positive test result. Any teachers or students who were in direct contact (I.E in the same closed classroom) with the positive individual will use the virtual class option for 14 days. Our studio adheres to stringent cleaning protocols of the studio spaces, lobby areas and all high touch surfaces - in between classes and at the end of each day. All studios are equipped with hepafiltration systems to circulate the air. All staff members are required to wear proper face coverings at all times. All students ages 3 and above are required to wear masks at all times. In accordance with advice from local health officials, any students or teachers who were not in direct contact (I.E in the same closed classroom) should not be impacted.

Student or Teacher Receives Confirmed Positive COVID-19 Test:

• Student or teacher must notify the studio of a positive test result. Any teachers or students who were in direct contact (I.E in the same closed classroom) with the positive individual will use the virtual class option for 14 days. At the end of 14 days, individuals must show proof of a negative COVID test result and must be cleared by a physician via documentation in order to return to the studio.

General Requirements

• We have increased the number of sanitizing stations throughout the studio. We require that anyone entering the studio sanitize at the front desk.

• Waiting areas will be restricted. For dancers ages Pre-School 1 and up we will be requiring drop off only. If you are not comfortable leaving your child entirely, we encourage you to wait in your car in our Main Parking Lot or Colonial Manor Parking Lot. Parents of dancers enrolled in Baby Dance - one parent may be allowed inside if it is deemed absolutely necessary - please, no siblings. If your child enters willingly, we will ask you to wait in your car in our Main Parking Lot or Colonial Manor Parking Lot. Please note our lobby is limited to 8 patrons at any time.

• “Camera Weeks” will be via Zoom until further notice. For a list of “Camera Weeks” please visit our website under -> GENERAL INFO -> IMPORTANT DATES.

• We encourage all families to make their tuition and other payments through the Parent Portal.

• All water dispensers have been closed. Please make sure your dancer brings plenty of water to class in a clearly marked water bottle. Dancers are not allowed to bring food into the studio at any time.

• Dancers will not be allowed in the studio until 5-10 minutes before their scheduled class. There will be a staff member monitoring the door.

• All dressing rooms are closed and off limits. Cubbies will not be available. The Lost and Found and Shoe Swap have been removed. Anything left at the studio at the end of the night will be disposed of to maintain sanitary conditions.

• Dancers need to arrive dressed and ready for class. There will be no changing allowed in the restrooms. Dancers will bring all their belongings into the classroom with them. They will change shoes in there.

• Upon the end of class, dancers will be escorted to the Main Lobby doors for dismissal. Please have a parent or guardian waiting outside the Main Lobby Doors – please maintain social distance while waiting. DO NOT BE LATE FOR PICKUP.

• Class size limits will follow guidelines implemented by state and federal organizations. All dancers will be spaced 6 feet apart while in their stationary spots.

Mask Requirements

• Everyone is required to wear a mask when entering and exiting the studio OR using the restrooms.

• All students ages 3 and older, are required to wear a mask at all times – even during classes. Students ages 2 and under do not need to wear a mask per the guidance listed by the CDC. If you would like your child to wear their mask for the entirety of class, please email erica@encoredanceacademy.net.

• Staff will wear proper face coverings at all times.

Sanitation Protocols

• All staff members have received training regarding social distancing and hygiene protocols.

• All staff members are required to wear proper face coverings at all times. All staff members will be exercising proper hand washing in between classes and proper hand sanitation in class.

• All students ages 3 and older are required to wear a mask. All students will be asked to sanitize their hands when they enter and exit the classroom. Should they need to use the restroom, they will need to sanitize again.

• All staff members will monitor their temperature throughout the week and will have their temperature checked the day(s) they are working.

• All classrooms, bathrooms, lobby areas and high touch areas will be properly sanitized in between classes and at the end of each day. Every cleaning will be logged.

• All studios and lobby areas will be equipped with hepafiltration systems to circulate airflow.

Cancellation of Enrollment Policies/Refunds

We are a small business operating at limited capacity at a time of high uncertainty. Due to guidelines limiting the number of students allowed in our classrooms – every space is important. It is vital that class spaces are filled by students who will be committing to a full program – which ends in June. Furthermore, due to the uncertain nature of resurgence, we have put policies in place to protect ourselves should we need to close our in-studio doors and assume classes virtually. • Cancellation of Enrollment Past November 1st: By registering for dance classes, you are committing to payments from the time of enrollment through June 1st. Should you not wish to continue your enrollment after November 1st you will assume ALL tuition payments for the remainder of the year (through June 1st).

• Resurgence Scenario: All classes are backed with a virtual class option via Zoom. Should the studio need to close its in-studio classes, classes will automatically begin via Zoom. Should you not wish to continue classes virtually, no refunds or discounts will be given for tuition for the time period involved. Should you not wish to continue your enrollment after November 1st you will assume ALL tuition payments for the remainder of the year (through June 1st).

• Child Is Sick/Quarantining: All classes are backed with a virtual class option via Zoom. Should your child need to stay home if they are sick, experiencing symptoms, or quarantining - they may take class via Zoom if they are feeling up to it. Should you not wish to continue classes virtually, no refunds or discounts will be given for tuition for the time period involved. Should you not wish to continue your enrollment after November 1st you will assume ALL tuition payments for the remainder of the year (through June 1st).
